JETTA SEVERINA WALMAN MATTSON
Jetta Severina Walman, daughter of Gabriel and Johanna
Walman was born at Centerville, May 24, 1882. She attended school at Centerville
and was confirmed in the Apostolic Lutheran Church.
She married William Niva November 23, 1900. He preceded
her in death on May 29, 1950. On July 19, 1959 she was united in marriage
to Arthur Mattson, who survives.
Death arrived on February 23, at the Blue Mountain Infirmary,
Walla Walla.
She is survived by her widower, who was at home, three
daughters, Marcella Mattson, Seaview; Hazel Gratzek, Sacramento, Calif.,
and Lois Jean Bullock, Louisville, Ky.; one daughter Elizabeth, died in infancy;
three sons, Cecil Niva, Seattle; Robert Niva, Walla Walla, and William Niva,
Klickitat; one daughter, Elizabeth, died in infancy; two step-children, Walter
Mattson, Elgin, Ore., and Alma Meyers, Vancouver; nine grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Nimela, Goldendale and Fanny Costello,
Fairfield, Idaho; one brother, Albert Walman, Vancouver, and many nieces
and nephews mourn her loss.
She devoted her life to her family, church and community
affairs.

MRS. JETTA MATTSON
Mrs. Jetta Mattson of 1464 Francis died in a local nursing
home Tuesday after an extended illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Mattson was born May 20, 1882, in Centerville, Wash.
She came to Walla Walla a year ago. For many years, she was a reporter for
the Goldendale Sentinel.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Mattson of
Centerville; three sons, Robert Niva of Walla Walla, Cecil Niva of Seattle
and William Niva of Klickitat, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Chester (Marcella)
Mattson of Seaview, Wash., Mrs. Jake (Hazel) Gratzek of North Highlands,
Calif., and Mrs. Melvin (Lois Jean) Bullock of Louisville, Ky.; a brother,
Albert Wallman of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Nimela of Goldendale
and Mrs. Fanny Costello of Fairfield, Idaho; nine grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Finnish Lutheran Church, Knights
of Pythias, and the Klickitat Pioneer Society.
