JOSE BARRAGAN
73-year-old Jose Trinidad Barragan died in Hood River,
Ore., on June 15, 2003.
He was born in Jalisco, Mexico, on Dec. 25, 1929, to
Juana (Velazquez) and Jesus Barragan. He grew up in Mexico, where he worked
as a laborer and served in the Mexican Army. In 1988, he moved to the White
Salmon area and worked for Rick Ensminger until his health forced him to
retire two years ago.
Mr. Barragan was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He liked to stay home and keep up with the news, but as a younger man he
always enjoyed fishing in Mexico and was an excellent swimmer.
Mr. Barragan is survived by nieces Lina Lopez, Beatriz
Plascencia, Maria A. Plascencia, Graciela Plascencia, Lucia Plascencia and
Angela Plascencia, all of White Salmon; and nephews Jose Plascencia, Pascual
Plascencia, Juan Plascencia, all of White Salmon, and Celedonio Plascencia,
Mexico.
A vigil was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Gardener
Funeral Home at 7 p.m. and a funeral mass was held on Thursday, June 19,
at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment was at the White Salmon
Cemetery.
Gardner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
