JOHN THOM CHANDLER PASSES AWAY

     John Thom Chandler was born on the 10th day of May, 1847, at Greenville, Pennsylvania, and was married on February 4, 1870 to Rebecca Jane Farr. Twelve children were born to their union, eight of them still living, and four died in childhood. Those living are Jackson, Frank, and Mrs. Ovie Smith, of Laurel, Wash.; John, of Portland, Ore.; George, of Eureka, Wash., near Walla Walla; Mrs. Margaret Silvis, of New Bethlehem, Penn.; Mrs. Chester E. Hodson, of Red Mountain, Calif. He was an ernest Christian worker all his life, always lived a good Christian life, and was a kind and dearly beloved husband and father.
     At rest August 2nd, 1918, at Glenwood, Wash., at the age of seventy-one years, two months and twenty-three days. The funeral services were held at the church on Sunday, Aug. 4th by Rev. Wagner of Laurel. He was laid to rest in the Mt. Adams Cemetery. The family have the sympathy of the entire community.

CALLED TO REST

Hodson of Red Mountain, Cal., and Orvin, of Glenwood, now training at Camp Lewis. They had 23 grandchildren, eight of whom have passed away; also five great-grand children, two of whom have passed away.
     Mr. Chandler joined the Presbyterian church in 1870, when 23 years old, at Greenville, Pa. He came to Olex, Ore., in 1903, and moved to Glenwood in 1909, and was Elder of the Bethel Presbyterian Church of Glenwood since then. He was an earnest Christian worker all his life, always lived a good Christian life, and was a kind and dearly beloved husband and father.
     At rest, August 2, 1918, at Glenwood, Wash., at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 23 days. The funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 4, at the church, by Rev. Wagner of Laurel. He was laid to rest in the Mt. Adams Cemetery, all the family except to daughters being present. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
