DEATH SUMMONS JOHN T. MARVIN
Funeral services for John Thomas Marvin, 81, White Salmon
were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 21 at Gardner's Chapel with internment
at the Odd Fellow Cemetery. Rev. Roger L. Clevenger officiated.
Casket bearers were A. B. Carlock, Jim Hore, Charles
Lain Hart, John DeWalt, Everett Snyder and Walter Hunsaker.
Mr. Marvin was born at Aumsville, Oregon on March 20,
1880. In 1891 he moved to Glewood, Wash, where he Vida McCumber in 1915.
In 1923 they moved to White Salmon.
Mr. Marvin followed his carpentry trade for 40 years
and worked for Broughton Lumber Company for 12 years. He retired in 1953.
He died of a stroke at Skyline Hospital last Saturday, Nov. 18.
Survivors include: his widow, Vida of White Salmon; two
sons, Alvin of White Salmon and James of Sisters, Ore; five grandchildren
and one great grandchild.
Also, two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Carroll of Lebanon, Oregon
and Mrs. Melissa Ann Morey of Ocean Park; numerous nieces and nephews.
