JOSEPH THOMAS McGAUGHEY
Joseph T. McGaughey died June 7 in Goldendale at the
age of 94.
He was born at McCracken, Kan. May 11, 1883. He worked
as a coal miner, farmer and construction worker.
He was married to Nellie Casey in June 1913. In 1927,
they moved to Idaho and in 1955 to Wenatchee. In 1957 the family moved to
Goldendale where he worked in construction until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1969, a son Harold
in 1915 and daughters Mary McKeegan in 1957 and Barbara Tucker in 1974.
He is survived by sons Barney, Vancouver, Wilbur, Baker,
Ore., Basil, Rufus, Ore. and Donald, Freemont, Calif.; daughter Mrs. Robert
Bell, Royal City; sisters Sarah Casey, Maggie Wierman and Mayme McCormick,
all of McCracken, Kan. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 35
greatgrandchildren.
Funeral mass was held June 11 at Holy Trinity Catholic
Church with Fr. John Marasciulo as celebrant.
Pallbearers were Donald Bell, Jim McGaughey, John McGaughey,
Ron Niva, Newt Robinson and Dan Morrison. Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
