JOHN WALLACE BROWN
Mr. John Wallace Brown of Lyle, who has been in the Clark County
hospital at Vancouver since October 7th, passed away December 1st at 5:40
o'clock.
Mr. Brown was born in 1893 at Randall, Arkansas. Gardner
funeral home has charge of arrangements.
RITES HELD FOR JOHN W. BROWN
Lyle (special) Services for John Will Brown, 61, Lyle
farmer since 1935, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Gardner's funeral
chapel in White Salmon. The Rev. James A. Duffey officiated. Burial was in
Balch cemetery near Lyle.
Mr. Brown was born March 19, 1893 in Randall, Arkansas,
the son of William and Mary Brown. His youth was spent in Arkansas and in
Texas where he worked in the oil fields. On Oct. 18, 1937 he was married
in Stevenson to the former Grace Bertschi. He died at Lyle Wednesday, Dec.
1.
Survivors include his wife; son Edward Brown of Arkansas;
half-sister, Mrs. Bertha Brassell and half-brother, both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas;
step-son, Loren Bertschi of the Dalles, Oregon; and step-daughter, Mrs. Melvin
J. Widmer Chicago, Illinois.
