JAMES W. HASSING

     James W. Hassing was born to John A. and Alberta Hassing on Dec. 20, 1921 at Dufur, Ore. He died June 15, 1975 at Goldendale. When he was young, his family moved to Condon, Ore. where he attended school.
     He worked in Condon after his schooling and then enlisted in the Army Air Force serving in England during most of World War II. After his discharge he moved to Goldendale where he worked as a mechanic until his retirement due to an accident.
     He is survived by his father, John A. Hassing, Goldendale, three brothers, Joe and Jack of Goldendale and Tom of Condon, and one sister, Marie Beck of Portland.
     He was a member of Louis Leidl Post No. 116, American Legion. Funeral mass was held June 18 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father John Marasciulo officiating. Interment was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
