JOHN KEEL, COUNTY PIONEER, PASSES
Funeral services for John William Keel, 70-year-old and
Klickitat county pioneer, were held from the Gardner chapel in White Salmon
last week. Mr. Keel died at the Hood River hospital after a long illness.
He is survived by his widow, Mary Keel; two sons, Dean
Keel, of Portland, and Ivan Keel, of Glenwood; one daughter, Mrs. Nettie
Dean, of Portland; four grandchildren; one brother, Milt of Toppenish; and
two sisters, Mrs. Laura Cox, of the Marysville, Calif., and Mrs. Luella Childers,
of Los Angeles.
Mr. Keel came to Klickitat county with his parents in
1886 and settled in the Crofton Prairie district. In 1889 he was married
to Mary Erickson at Blockhouse. He moved to Glenwood in 1915 and lived there
until a few months prior to his death. Burial was at Spring Creek Cemetery.

GLENWOOD, Sept. 27. -- (Special) -- Mr. John Keel passed away in the Hood River hospital. Funeral services will be held at Gardner's Funeral Parlors Friday afternoon.
