CHURCH SERVICE TODAY AT 1:30 FOR JOHN ROBERTS
John W. Roberts passed away at Yakima Washington on December
4th at the age of 81 years. He was born at Maryhill, Washington March 24,
1891.
He had been living for the past year and a half with
one of his daughters in Yakima. Prior to this he had spent most of his life
in the White Salmon area.
He married his wife Olga in December of 1913. She preceded
him in death July 12, 1971.
His customary work for most of his life had been farming.
He had been foreman at Mt. Adams Orchards for many years. He gave much of
his time to help in building the United Methodist Church in White Salmon.
He had been very active in the Masonic Lodge and in the Shriners.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Masonic
Lodge of White Salmon, the order of Eastern Star of White Salmon, and the
Shriners. He was also a Scottish Right Mason.
Surviving him are his daughters: Mildred Van Amburg of
Yakima, Washington; Beulah Hurd of Gresham, Or.; and Ella Wallace of Gresham,
Or. Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 7th, at 1:30
pm at the United Methodist Church of White Salmon. Rev. Donald Kaelin will
officiate at the services and the Masonic Lodge will also participate.
Interment will be in the White Salmon Cemetery.
