JAMES WAYNE VAN DEVANTER
Joseph Wayne Van DeVanter was born April 3, 1882 in Oregon
and died April 11, 1957 in Fortuna, Calif. where he had been making his home.
Gardner's Funeral home had charge of the service held
Tuesday, April 16 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Mr. George and the Mt. Adams Elks 1868
officiated. Burial was in the W.S. Odd Fellow cemetery.
He is survived by his widow Della of Fortuna, two sons,
Garth of Honeydew, Calif.; and Erhman of Forest Grove; a daughter Edna Kent,
Fortuna, Calif. and a brother Lovern Van DeVanter, Milton-Freewater, Ore.;
three stepchildren, Jan Johnson, Eddie and Wesley Minton all of Fortuna and
a number of grandchildren.
