KARL A. FISCHER
Karl A. Fischer was born in Germany February 14, 1883.
He passed away at Hy-Lond Convalescent Corner in Goldendale, Washington April
16, 1972.
He came to the United States as a young man with his
father and both were engaged as food chemists during World War I on the West
Coast. In 1932 he moved to Irrigon, Oregon and made his home with Walt Caldwell's
mother and brother. Five years later, in 1937, he came to The Dalles, Oregon
where he worked for a time in the shipbuilding industry and then went to
work for the Union Pacific Railroad during World War II.
In 1954 a move was made to Lyle, Washington and here
Mr. Fischer continued to make his home until March 1972 when he was admitted
to The Dalles General Hospital and later transferred to the Hy-Lond Convalescent
Center at Goldendale.
Mr. Fischer does not have any known relatives in the
United States. However, he leaves to mourn his passing a host of friends,
among which are many children. Mr. Fischer was a lover of classical ....text
