"Late Local"
Mrs. Katherine C. Edwards, wife of Evans S. Edwards, and mother of Rev. Father Edwards, died at her home in this city last evening at 11:30 o'clock. She was aged 81 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 10 o'clock.

FUNERAL SERVICES OF MRS. EDWARDS HELD YESTERDAY
The funeral of Mrs. Katherine Cecilia (Regan) Edwards,
wife of Even S. Edwards and mother of Rev. T.A. Edwards, was held from Holy
Trinity Catholic Church in Goldendale, Wednesday morning, Feb. 10, at ten
o'clock, with the Solemn Gregorian Requiem High Mass. The ministers at the
altar were: Rev. T.A. Edwards, Celebrant of the Mass; Rev. Robert J. Armstrong,
Yakima, Deacon; Rev. Joseph F. Conway, Grandview, Wash., Sub-Deacon; Rev.
John Egan, Vancouver, Wash., Master of Ceremonies; Masters Arthur and John
Forcier, Acolytes. At the end of the Mass Sister Mary Aquinas sang the solo,
"Face to Face," and the entire choir, "Nearer my God to Thee." Interment
was in the Catholic cemetery near Goldendale. The attendance was representative
of the parish and the people of Goldendale from every walk in life and religious
denomination. Besides those listed above, the following attended from a distance:
Rev. Fathers Dominic, Hermiston, Ore., and Dalton, Ontario
Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Lauderdale (only surviving sister of the deceased)
of Lauderdale Lodge, near Cle-Elum, Wash.; J. Reagan, Yakima, and Mr. Connell,
The Dalles; Emil Klinger, Mrs. Catherin Wilke and Mrs. John Egan, White Salmon;
George F. Bunn, Mrs. John Hayes and Mrs. J.D. McGrath, Fallbridge. Beautiful
floral pieces were sent from Chicago, Yakima, Fallbridge and Goldendale.
The pastor and his father wish to express to all of whom,
by their devotion and respect, made these days of sorrow less difficult to
bear, their heartfelt gratitude, assuring them that this striking manifestation
of love and true friendship will ever be cherished with the kindliest sentiments.
