KENNETH D. SORENSEN
Kenneth D. "Pat" Sorensen, a long-time resident of Lyle,
died Friday, Nov. 20, at home. He was 73.
He was born June 3, 1914 to Van. C. and Edith A. (Clark)
Sorensen in Hartland, Wash., but lived most of his life in lyle. He married
Nellie A. Sauter on Feb. 22, 1947. Mr. Sorensen farmed and worked at various
jobs in the area until ill health forced him to retire. He was a veteran
of World War II, and was a member of the American Legion and Columbia Grange.
His favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing.
Mr. Sorensen is survived by his wife, Nellie of Lyle;
children Linda Porritt, Sharon DeByne, Kenneth M., all of Lyle, Martin of
Lynden, Wash.; and Leroy of Lyle; brother Glen of Salem, Ore.; sisters, Eunice
Omeg of Yakima, Mildred Cooksley of Portland, Ore., Elna Humke, also of Portland;
and 16 grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Sorensen were held Tuesday, Nov. 24,
in the chapel of Gardner Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Halvorson officiated. Interment
followed in the Balch Cemetery, Lyle, under the direction of Gardner Funeral
Home. Memorial
