KATHE BENJAMIN
Kethe "Kay" Olida Benjamin, died at her home in BZ Corners
on Jan. 6, 1997, at the age of 80.
Mrs. Benjamin was born May 23, 1916, in Shenston, Ontario,
Canada, to Ingeborg L. (Liland) and Jorgen J. Olson. She was one of 16 children.
Mrs. Benjamin married Harry Benjamin on Nov. 30, 1931
in International Falls, Minn. They had eight children. During World War II,
she worked building rockets in Hastings, Neb. She moved to Colorado in 1950
and to Pacifica, Calif., in 1966. She settled in BZ Corners in 1974.
She loved to knit, crochet and have her house filled
with people. She was also a wonderful cook.
Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her children LeLane Westby,
Faye Hill and Gary "Rudy" Benjamin, all of BZ Corners, and Jody Ensminger,
Underwood; sister Alice Valdock, Kenora, Ontario, Canada; brother Ingval
Olson, Emo, Ontario, Canada; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren
and one great, great grandson. She was preceded in death by an infant son
and daughter, son Kurt in 1980, husband Harry in 1985, son Harvey in 1987,
as well as several brothers and sisters.
Interment will be at the Trout Lake Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to the Heart Association.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in
White Salmon.
