KENNETH GROSS
Kenneth Earl Gross, White Salmon, died Feb. 6, 1996,
at Skyline Hospital, at the age of 71.
Mr. Gross was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Drumheller, Alberta,
Canada, to Addie Mae (Buroker) and Charles Wesley Gross. His family moved
to Washington when he was very young and settled in the White Salmon area
after a couple of years. He graduated from Columbia Union High School, where
he won the athletic award.
He married Helen Hurt in 1949. He owned and operated
his own logging company for many years, retiring in 1989. He was a life member
of Mt. Adams Elks Lodge 1868, a member of Bingen Eagles and president of
Mt. Adams Loggers Association. He loved to hunt, fish and garden.
Mr. Gross is survived by his wife, Helen, White Salmon;
daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Lutz, Husum; sons and daughters-in-law
Jeff and Ann Gross, BZ Corners, and Randy and Cindy Gross, Yakima; grandchildren
Ken and Monica Lutz, Husum; uncles Walt Gross, BZ Corners, and Willis Gross,
Husum. He was preceded in death by brothers Harold and Gilbert Gross and
his parents.
Memorial services for Mr. Gross were held Monday, Feb.
12, 1996, at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Willem
Romeijn and Mt. Adams Elks Lodge 1868 officiating. Interment was
private.
Memorials may be made to Skyline Foundation in care of
Gardner Funeral Home or Tall Elks in care of Mt. Adams Elks Lodge 1868.
Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
