SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR FELLER
Graveside services for Kenneth Ray Feller were held Tuesday
afternoon at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood. Bill Fredericks conducted the
service.
Feller fell to his death in the Klickitat River Canyon
sometime between Jan. 9 and Jan. 12. He was seen alive at Glenwood School
around noon Jan. 9. He was reported missing to sheriff's deputies Jan. 11.
His 1952 Ford pickup truck was discovered Friday night
in the area above the Klickitat Salmon Hatchery about one quarter mile east
if Outlet Falls. There was allegedly a hand written note found in the truck.
The truck was found by members of the Glenwood Hellroaring Snowmobile Club.
To search the shear rock walls of the canyon, the "Alpine
CAP" or Alpines, a search and rescue organization from Hood River was called
by Sheriff Rich Williams on the night of Jan. 12.
The sixteen-year-old's body was found below a 300-foot
rock wall in the canyon just before noon Jan. 13.
The group began their descent into the canyon on the
morning of Jan. 13 and about 2:30 p.m. the body was reported recovered.
Twenty-four members of the Alpinees participated in the
operation. Sheriff Williams commended the group on their professionalism
and thanked Glenwood residents for their cooperation.
Born Sept. 25, 1962, in San Diego, Calif., to Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Feller, Feller was a student at Glenwood High School.
Survivors include his parents, Glenwood; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Feller, and Mr. and Mrs. Orval Montgomery, Glenwood; a great-grandmother,
