KENNETH WARD RIGGLEMAN
A retired orchardist, Kenneth Ward Riggleman, died July
11 at Skyline Hospital. He was 75.
Mr. Riggleman was born in Timberville, Va. on April 28,
1916 to Georgia and Anna Elizabeth Riggleman.
He married Catherine Burkett in 1946. Mr. Riggleman served
in the World War II enlisting in the U.S. Navy. His family followed the fruit
crops earning enough money to buy an orchard. In 1954 they settled in Gilmer
Valley, purchasing 45 acres to begin in their orchard.
He is survived by his wife Catherine; sons, Ronald Riggleman,
Kenneth Jr. and Charles; daughters, Ann Clark, Pam Mitchell, Marie Nash and
Sandy Bates; two brothers, George Riggleman and James Riggleman; sister,
Hilda Welch.
Services were held at Gardner's Funeral Home Saturday,
July 13, followed by burial at Gilmer Valley Cemetery.
Contributions are being accepted in Riggleman's name
to the Tall Elks Crippled Childrens Fund.
