LARS MATTSON
The body of Lars Mattson who died at the family home at Hockinson Monday, January 11, was sent from the Limber Funeral Home today to Centerville. Funeral services were held in this afternoon at 1:30 in the Finnish Lutheran Church of Centerville and interment was made in the family plot of the Centerville cemetery. Rev. W.M. Bassi officiated.

Lars Mattson, 84, died at the family home at Hockinson, Wash., Monday following several months illness. Mr. Mattson suffered a stroke of a paralysis about six months ago and never recovered. He was born in Finland on April 23, 1841, and in 1873 moved to the United States, settling at Calumet, Mich. Three years later he moved to Centerville, Wash., where he engaged in ranching. Five years ago he moved to Hockinson. The surviving relatives include his wife; six sons, Matt of Hubbard, Ore.; John, Elmer, August, Frank and Arthur, all of Centerville; one step-son, Albert Nelson, of Hockinson; and three daughters, Mrs. Matt Ahola, Mrs. Wm. Wiidanen and Mrs. Levi Niva, all of Centerville; also one sister, Mrs. John Hagen of Centerville. Funeral services were held in Centerville yesterday, from the Finnish Lutheran Church, Wm. Basi officiating. Interment was made in the Centerville cemetery.
