LLOYD "BUDDY" THOMAS

     Long time White Salmon resident Lloyd "Buddy" Thomas died at his home Oct. 13. He was 64.
     Mr. Thomas was born Aug. 21,1932 in Seattle, King Co., WA. to Virginia F. (Johnston) and Malvin Leroy Thomas. He grew up in the Yakima Valley before serving in the US Air Force.
     Mr. Thomas moved to White Salmon area in 1952 and married Diane Henry in 1953. They lived in White Salmon, then Mill A from 1962-71, then moved back to White Salmon. He worked for the DNR, U.S. Forest Service, Underwood Fruit and Broughton Lumber Co. during his career before retiring early in 1985 for health reasons. Mr. Thomas loved the outdoors and mechanics. He was a fix-it man and tinkerer, who loved his yard and took great pride in keeping it up. He also used to enjoy his CB radio.
     Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife Diane; son Steven Thomas, Hood River; Brother, Ronald Thomas, Mill A; sisters, Donna Johnson, Redwood City, Calif., and Shirley Harris, Julian, Calif., as well as three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
     Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Oscar Stenberg officiating. Committal will be at the White Salmon Cemetery. Contributions may be given to Hospice of the Gorge, c/o Gardner Funeral Home, who was in charge of all arrangements.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996, graveside at White Salmon. The REv. Oscar Stenberg will officiate.
