STROKE TAKES LOUISE BALSIGER
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2,
at Bethel Congregational Church for Mrs. William L. (Louise Childs) Balsiger,
71, of White Salmon.
Gardner's were in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Roger
Clevenger officiated. Burial was in the White Salmon Odd Fellows cemetery.
Casket bearers were Archie Carlock, Floyd Martin, Henry
Johnson, Theodore Kremaer, Emmet Clouse and Eugene Glader.
Mrs. Balsiger was born Feb. 13, 1888 in Britton, South
Dakota and moved to White Salmon in 1906. She was married to William Balsiger
on Nov. 25, 1913 at White Salmon where they have since made their home.
After being hospitalized for pneumonia on Tuesday, Dec.
29. Mrs. Balsiger seemed to be recovering satisfactorily when she died of
a heart attack of stroke on the following evening, Dec. 30.
She is survived by her widower, William Balsiger, of
White Salmon; son, Richard Balsiger of Yakima; daughter Dorothy, Mrs. Emerson
Hoogstaat of Portland; six grandchildren.
Also two brothers John Childs of White Salmon and Ernest
Childs of Trout Lake; and a sister Mrs. A.F. (Doris) Proctor of The Dalles,
Oregon.
The deceased was a member of Bethel Congregational church
and a charter member of its Women's Guild.

RITES HELD WEEK AGO FOR MRS. BALSIGER
Funeral services were at the Congregational Church on SAturday a week ago at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Louise Balsiger. Rev. Roger Clevenger officiated with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Gardners had charge of funeral arrangements. Mrs. Balsiger was born February 13, 1888 in Britton, South Dakota, and moved to White Salmon in 1906. She was married to Wm. Balsiger on November 25, 1913 at White Salmon where they have made their home ever since. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Wm. Balsiger, White Salmon and son Richard of Yakima, daughter Dorothy, Mrs. Emmerson Hoogstraat of Seattle and six grandchildren; two brothers, John Childs of White Salmon and Ernest Childs of Trout Lake and a sister Mrs. Doris Proctor of The Dalles, besides a large circle of friends.
