LOUIS DAN LORENGEL
Louis Dan "Louie" Lorengel, 80, a longtime resident of
The Dalles, died at the local hospital on Wednesday.
He was born Aug. 1, 1912 in Portland, to Bill and Mabel
(Thomas) Lorengel.
He married the former Betty Locke in 1939 at Stevenson,
Wash. He was a locomotive engineer, working for the rail lines of three
companies, the J. Neils Lumber Co., the Klickitat Log and Lumber Co.; and
the Condon-Kinzua Southern Line for the Kinzua Lumber Co.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and
of Faith Lutheran Church of The Dalles.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a son, Lee Lorengel,
Hood River; two daughters, Yvonne Benson, Netarts, and Linda Williams, Portland,;
six grandchildren, Danny, Donny, Shawn, Nathan, Katrina and Marcie; and five
great grandchildren; Crystal, Tiffany, Michael, Nicholas and Christopher.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Smith
Callaway Chapel with burial at Balch Cemetery in Lyle. A reception will then
be held at Faith Lutheran Church in The Dalles.
Memorials may be made to Seniority Care-A-Van in care
of Mid-Columbia Medical Center.

Louis "Louie" Dan Lorengel of The Dalles died May 12.

Mr. Lorengel was born Aug. 1, 1912 in Portland, to Bill
