LILY DORA SAUNDERS
Lily Dora Saunders, 82, of Goldendale, passed away on
Saturday, December 24, 1994 in Goldendale.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1912 in Eckles, England, to Henry
and Lily Culver. The family came to the United States that same year, settling
in Cottage Grove, Ore.
Lily attended schools there and moved to Goldendale in
1928.
She and John Saunders were married in Goldendale in 1939.
She lived in Chehalis and San Francisco while John served in World War II.
The couple returned to Goldendale where they owned and
operated The Dairy Bar Restaurant.
Her husband John passed away in 1968.
Lily is survived by two brothers; Henry and Cliff Culver
of Goldendale; two sisters, Vernon Ramsby and Viola Miller of Portland; seven
nieces and nine nephews also known as "her children."
Lily enjoyed sports, antiques and loved to cook.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. in the
Chapel of Erdman Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Akins of the First Baptist
Church officiating. Interment was in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Lee Ramsby, Steve Peak, Rod Miller,
John Miller, Michael Miller, Mark Ramsby, Kevin Culver and Todd Overly.
