DEATH COMES TO CROFTON PRAIRIE PIONEER, AGED 71
Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Clarence, pioneer resident of
Crofton Prairie, died Saturday at Bonneville Sanitarium, North Bonneville,
following a long illness. She was 71.
Funeral services were held Monday from Phillips Funeral
Home here.
Mrs. Clarence was born in Rome, N.Y., October 19, 1879,
the daughter of Franklin and Carrie Walker. She moved to Missouri and in
1908 was united in marriage to Herbert Lee. To this union one child was born.
After a year in South Dakota, she moved to Washington
state, where she met and married John H. Clarence. They had one son.
Mrs. Clarence lived for more than 40 years in the Crofton
Prairie area.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Lee and Elbert Clarence,
both of Goldendale and one brother, Clinton L. Walker of Vancouver, and several
grand-children.
