RITES READ FOR LEROY HYLTON

Funeral services were held in White Salmon Wednesday for Leroy Hylton, formerly of the Upper Washougal area, who died in a Vancouver hospital Sunday, March 2, at the age of 80.
Mr. Hylton, familiarly known as "Roy", had been making his home in Washougal after retiring 20 years ago.
He was born October 13, 1899, in The Dalles, Oregon, the son of U.F. and Lillian Hylton. He grew up in that area and was a farmer all his life.
Mr. Hylton farmed for many years in the Appleton area of Klickitat County. He and Esther Leaton were married in Stevenson November 12, 1930, and would have observed their Golden Anniversary this year.
After farming in Klickitat County for many years they purchased property in Skamania County, moving upon retirement to Washougal. Mr. Hylton was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Grange and the Methodist Church of Washougal.
Besides his wife, Esther, he is survived by a son, Donald Hylton of Springfield, Oregon, and a sister, Helen Miller, of San Carlos, California. There are four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral rites were held at the White Salmon Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Green officiating. Gardner's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
