LOIS E. RUMSEY
Lois E. Rumsey of Lyle died in Vancouver May 19, 1994;
she was 64.
She was born July 24, 1929 to Esther (Shelton) and John
H. Gilliam in Houston, Tx. On October 21, 1955 she married M.J. Rumsey. The
couple lived in Houston until moving to California in 1963.
The Rumsey's moved to Lyle in 1986. Mrs. Rumsey worked
for the Hood River Ranger Station for several years.
She was an accomplished seamstress and made all of her
clothes, she loved handwork of any kind and was especially fond of gardening.
She and her husband raised championship Duroc hogs for 4-H community programs.
She is survived by her husband M.J. Rumsey of Lyle; her
children Regina Williams of Vancouver, Robert Usher of Sacremento, Darlene
Copeland of Vancouver, Tim Rumsey of Stockton, John Rumsey of San Jose, and
Joe Rumsey of Vancouver; she had 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21, at the Gardner
Funeral Home in White Salmon; pastor Leo Senn officiated the service.
The family suggests contributions in her name be given
to the charity of choice.
The Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of all the
arrangements.
