STEPHENSON
Loyd E. Stephenson, 49, of Goldendale, passed away Monday,
Oct. 23, 1989 after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services are scheduled this Thursday, Oct.
26 at 11 a.m. in Centerville Cemetery, Pastor Vince Hart of United Methodist
Church officiating.
Mr. Stephenson was born Dec. 29, 1939 in Rushville, Neb.,
to Elmer and Viola Stephenson, and the family moved to Sunnyside, Wash.,
where he attended schools.
He married Ruth Rathbun on July 10, 1956 at Lewiston,
Idaho, and the couple moved to Goldendale in 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Goldendale; one
daughter, Mrs. Burl (Debbie) Zielinski, and one son and daughter-in-law,
Doug and Paula Stephenson, all of Goldendale; four grandsons; his father
and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stephenson, Sunnyside; five sisters:
Fran Knutsen, Puyallup, Wash.; Florence Kunz, Federal Way; Gladys Wade,
Vancouver; Dorothy Mendez and Betty McConnell, Seattle; and one brother,
Ralph, of Puyallup. He was preceded in death by a sister in1989 and his mother
in 1955.
Lloyd Stephenson was an avid sports fan; he coached Little
League in Goldendale for several years, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and
bowling.
Interment will follow the services, under the direction
of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Huntington's Disease
Society, Box 88521, Tukwila, Wash. 98188.
