LETITIA TAYLOR
Letitia E. Taylor, High Prairie, died March 4, 1996,
in White Salmon, at the age of 87.
Mrs. Taylor was born March 25, 1908, in Watts Valley,
Calif., to Julie (Hancock) and Henry Eversoll. She grew up in California,
graduating from the Parlier High School in Fresno, Calif. She moved to Washington
with her dad and brother, where she met Benjamin H. Taylor. They married
December 23, 1932, in Goldendale. They lived in Heartland (High Prairie)
where they farmed and raised their family.
She was a former 4-H leader and member of Klickitat County
Homemakers. She worked as a precinct committee chairman for many years, served
on the Lyle School Board and Lyle Cemetery Board, and was the dispatcher
for the High Prairie Fire Department for many years. Her C. B. "handle" was
"Peaches."
Mrs. Taylor also won many awards for her crocheting and
crocheted outfits for all her grandchildren when they were born.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Taylor, Lyle; son,
Douglas Taylor, Lyle; daughter, Lorna Dove, Seattle; sisters Alice Lanegan,
Goldendale, and Abigail Pera, Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren and 11
great-grand children.
Services for Mrs. Taylor were held Friday, March 18,
1996, at 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Donald
Brown officiating. Interment was at Lone Pine Cemetery, High Prairie.
Memorials may be given to the High Prairie Fire Department
in care of Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, who was in charge of the
arrangements.

Letitia E. Taylor, 87, of High Prairie passed away
March 4, 1996. She was born March 25, 1908, in Watts Valley, Calif., to Julie

in Goldendale and lived in Heartland (High Prairie) where they farmed and
raised their family. Letitia was a former 4-H leader, a member of Klickitat
County Homemakers, and she had won many awards for her crocheting. She had
crocheted outfits for all her grandchildren when they were born. She worked
as a Precinct Committee Chairman for many years, served on the Lyle School

Survivors include her husband, Ben Taylor of Lyle; son
Douglas Taylor of Lyle; daughter, Lorna Dove of Seattle; sisters, Alice Lanegan
of Goldendale, and Abigail Pera of Fresno. She is also survived by six
grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 8, 1996, at Gardner Funeral
Home of White Salmon. Committal was at the Lone Pine Cemetery of High Prairie.
