SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. C. PORTNER
Louise Portner was born November 15th, 1884 in Switzerland,
the daughter of Celestine and Charles Pingeon. She was united in marriage
to Charles F. Portner in February of 1914 in Iowa.
Louise Portner passed away November 28 at Skyline hospital
in White Salmon.
Since 1942 she had resided in Bingen, Washington. She
leaves her husband, Charles, seven daughters, Mrs. Carl Engle of Hood River,
Oregon, Mrs. Howard Schum of Bingen, Washington; Mrs. Lloyd Hansen of Rapid
City, South Dakota; Mrs. Donald Schmidt of Grants Pass, Oregon; Mrs. Richard
Mansfield of White Salmon; Mrs. Ed Holley of Glenwood, Washington; and Mrs.
B.J. Kessinger of Klickitat, Washington; three sons, Pete Portner of White
Salmon; Albert Portner of Trout Lake and Lloyd Portner of White Salmon.
Two sons have preceded her passing, Alfred in 1919 and
Charles in 1954.
There are also thirty six grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m.
at Gardner's. George P. George officiating.
Vault interment was in the White Salmon IOOF cemetery.
