     YAKIMA - LaVelle H. Sperry, 91, of rural White Swan died Saturday, October 21, 1995 at Providence Yakima Medical Center in Yakima.
     LaVelle was born in Centerville, WA. on May 5, 1904 to Henry & Flora Belle (Bowman) Yeackel. She was raised in Centerville and attended Dutch Flat School. In 1916 the family moved to the Dalles OR. There LaVelle attended and graduated from St. Mary's Academy. In 1926 she married Clarence Sperry in Wenatchee, WA. The couple settled in Seattle where they raised their family. The family then moved to Mexico City and lived there for three years before returning to Washington State. LaVelle loved gardening and arranging flowers. She had won several awards for her arrangements and was a member of The Eastside Garden Club in Redmond, WA.
     LaVelle is survived by her two daughters Janice Sarsfield and Sharon K. Hill both of White Swan; six grandchildren and 12 great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 12, 1989, 2 sisters and one brother.
     Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 25, 1995 at the Merritt Funeral Home Chapel in Wapato. Burial will be in the Centerville cemetery at Centerville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the White Swan Ambulance Service in care of Merritt Funeral Home 218 W. 3rd St. Wapato, WA. 98951.

     LaVelle H. Sperry, 91,of White Swan, died Saturday at Providence Yakima Medical Center.
     She was born in Centerville, and in 1916 moved to The Dalles, Ore. She and husband Clarence Sperry lived in Wenatchee, Seattle and Mexico City before returning to Washington. Her hobbies were gardening and flower arranging.
     Survivors include two daughters, Janice Sarsfield and Sharon K. Hill, both of White Swan; six grand-children and 12 great-grandchildren.
     Merritt Funeral Home, Wapato, is in charge of arrangements.
