LAWRENCE H. "SKINNY" WILBER
Lawrence H. "Skinny" Wilber, 92 of Goldendale, died May
17, 1999.
He was born April 28, 1907 at Beshena, Wisc. to Frank
and Rosa (Prinz) Wilber. Skinny was raised and educated in Wisconsin and
was united in marriage to Gertrude Lepscier on Sept.16, 1933 at Laona, Wisc.
The family moved to Goldendale in 1950 where Skinny was employed with Layman
Lumber, Klickitat Pine Box and Boise Cascade Mills. He retired in 1973.
Skinny was an avid sports fan of Goldendale High School
athletics and enjoyed gardening, telling stories, and his family, especially
his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers;
three sisters; a son, Carl; a daughter, Dorthea; and his wife Gertrude, who
died in 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Larry and wife Ruth Wilber
of Dallesport, Leonard and wife Alice Wilber of Goldendale and Lyle and wife
Cindy Wilber of Ellensburg; one sister, Florence Collins of Laona, Wisc.;
five grandchildren, Phil and wife, Kim Wilber, Todd and wife, Kim Wilber,
Wendy and husband, Bill Bush, Melissa and husband, Cory Wright, and Shelly
Wilber; three great-grandchildren, Elissa, Zachary and Jackson.
Mass of Christian burial will be said on Friday, May
21 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. William Byron
officiating. Rosary services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Holy Trinity
Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity
Altar Society or to Goldendale High School boys and girls basketball. Erdman
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
