LETHA IRENE STAACK
Letha Irene Staack, wife of James Staack passed away
at The Dalles hospital Tuesday evening July 17, 1945 from pneumonia contracted
following a major operation.
Letha Irene VanDeVanter was born at Medical Springs,
Oregon August 30, 1903, the eldest child of Wayne and the late Elizabeth
VanDeVanter, and spent her childhood in Eastern Oregon. She resided in Los
Angeles, California for several years but returned to be with her mother
who became ill while her parents lived at Goldendale, Washington. It was
here that she met and married James Staack, a native of this vicinity, July
2, 1935. Since that time his work has taken them throughout Oregon, Washington
and Idaho, where they made many friends.
Besides her husband she leaves her daughter, Ardythe
Thompon, father Wayne VanDeVanter, sister Edna Kent, brothers Ehrman and
Garth VanDeVanter, and granddaughters, Tessa and Judy Thompson, all of White
Salmon, Washington.
