LUCINDA JANE FAIRLEY

     Lucinda Jane Fairley was born in the state of Tennessee, March 5, 1844. She passed away December 26, 1931 at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 21 days.
     She was united in marriage to Benjamin Fairley, September 4, 1864 at Princeton, Mo., where they made their home until coming to Klickitat County, in the fall of 1887, where they settled on a farm. In 1900 the farm was sold and with the exceptions of a few months, made her home in Centerville, until the time of her death.
     Becoming a christian in early life, she lived a consistent christian life, giving her time and means to the cause she loved so much. Active in every part of a church work until the infirmities of age would not allow her to go on.
     An adopted son Elbert, a half brother and a host of nephews and nieces and step grandchildren and an aged aunt survive, as well as a large host of friends and neighbors.
     Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ at Centerville, Tuesday, December 29. Merle W. Chapman was in charge of the services, with Elder S.C. Eshelman, officiating. Interment was made in the Grange Cemetery, where she was laid to rest beside her husband, who preceded her on January 26, 1906.
