LOYD QUINTON SERVICE HELD ON APRIL 12TH
Loyd James Quinton passed away as the result of a fatal
heart attack suffered while he was working in the woods 3 miles east of B.Z.
Corners on April 8, 1968. He was born on April 21, 1921 at Rigby, Idaho.
He was a resident of Lyle, Wash., where he had lived
for many years. Employed by Rees Stevenson Company, he had also worked as
a farmer.
Mr. Quinton is survived by: his wife, Grace Quinton,
a son Dale; a foster daughter, Betty Rhodes, all of Lyle; 3 sisters, Stella
Pimley, Lilly Shigley, both of Lyle, and Ruby Gustafson of Garden, Calif.;
2 brothers, Lawrence Quinton of Boise, Idaho, and Ernest Quinton of Los Angeles,
Calif.
Services were held Friday afternoon, April 12, at 2 p.m.
in Gardner's Chapel. Interment was at Balch Cemetery at Lyle. Rev. Clare
Brown officiated.

HEART ATTACK TAKES LOYD JAMES QUINTON
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12 at 2 p.m.
at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon for Loyd james Quinton, 53, of
Lyle, who died April 8, while at work near BZ Corners. Rev. Clare D. Brown
will officiate. Burial will be in the Lyle Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be Dick Pimley, Jim Pimley, Steve
Pimley, Jim Shigley, Bill Quinton and Vernon Quinton; and honorary bearers,
Jim Curl and Bob Goude.
Mr. Quinton had been loading a truck previous to eating
lunch in the company of Amel Burris and Ray Yarnell. The three were sitting
on the ground after eating when the attack came.
The deceased had been employed by Rees Stevenson on the
Bauguess property across from the cycle track north of BZ Corners.
Mr. Quinton was born April 21, 1915 at Rigby, Ida. He
was untied in marriage Feb. 5, 1945 in White Salmon, Wa. to Grace Knight,
who survives him. Other survivors are an adopted son, Dale Quinton; foster
daughter, Betty Rhoads, Lyle; three sisters, Stella Pimley and Lilly Shigley
both of Lyle, and Ruby Gustavson of Gardenia, Calif.; two brothers, Lawrence
V. Quinton of Boise, Ida. and Ernest G. Quinton of Los Angeles, Calif. His
parents and a brother, George, preceded him in death.

LYLE - The sudden death by heart attack last Monday, April 8, 1968, of Lloyd James Quinton came as a shock to the community. He would have celebrated his 54th birthday April 21. Funeral services were held Friday, April 21, at the Gardner Chapel in White Salmon, with burial in Balch Cemetery, Lyle.
