LORIS JASPER WIIDANEN

     Private funeral services were held at the Centerville cemetery Saturday, February 29, at 2 p.m. for Loris Jasper Wiidanen, who passed away February 27, 1936 after a brief illness at The Dalles hospital. Rev. S.C. Eshelman conducted the graveside rites. The Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
     The deceased was born August 1, 1901 at Centerville, Wash., the son of William and Ida Wiidanen. He passed away at the age of 34 years, six months and 27 days, leaving to mourn his untimely departure, his parents; one sister, Mrs. Chas. Simi; five brothers, Burton, Albine, Francis, Merele and Wesley; one nephew, one sister-in-law, and one brother-in-law; and many relatives and a host of friends.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled,
The boon his love had given.
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in heaven.

L.J. WIIDANEN PASSES AWAY
Victim Ill But for Short Time; Dies in The Dalles Hospital Thursday

     Loris Wiidanen, son of William and Ida Wiidanen, Centerville, passed away Thursday afternoon following an illness of a few days. He was 34 years old.
     Mr. Wiidanen was well known in the Centerville and Klickitat valley and his passing was a distinct shock to his relatives and the many friends and admirers. Ill but a brief time, his condition became alarmingly grave and he was rushed by the Chapman ambulance to The Dalles hospital.
     His physicians immediately started diagnosing his case and it was learned that the young man was the victim of spinal meningitis. He lived but a few hours after his arrival in The Dalles.
     Services were conducted Saturday and interment was at Centerville.

     He leaves to mourn his untimely departure his parents, one sister, Mrs. Chas. Simi; five brothers, Burton, Albine, Francis, Merle and Wesley. One nephew, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law. Also many relatives and friends.
