FINAL RITES FOR LLOYD BEEKS
Lloyd Lincoln Beeks was born September 15, 1903 in the
Goldendale area and died June 16, 1971 at Trout Lake, Washington.
He lived as a child in the Goldendale area. He graduated
from Pleasant Valley school. He was married to Laura M. Dingmon on October
24th, 1923. They lived in Klickitat and then moved to Trout Lake where he
worked for the Forest Service for 8 years.
In 1942 he started his dairy in Trout Lake. He served
in a political office as County Commissioner for 12 years. He is a past exalted
Ruler of the Elks, and a Charter member of the White Salmon lodge. He was
active in the Democratic party. He was Pomona Master of the Grange as well
as Master of the Trout Lake Grange. He was very active in both local and
Pomona affairs.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Laura of Trout Lake, a
son Robert of Trout Lake and a daughter Anna Mae Crump of Seattle. Five
grandchildren and one great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers,
Bill Beeks of Packwood, John Beeks of Roosevelt, and Eddie Beeks of Hood
River, Or.; and two sisters Zephia Geer of Spokane, Wash., and Irene Barthlemay
of Kent, Wa.

COMMISSIONER BEEKS DIES WEDNESDAY
Lloyd Beeks, 67, Trout Lake, county commissioner from
district 8 since 1958, died in his home of natural causes Wednesday morning.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be made today, according
to Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon. Before being elected commissioner,
Beeks served on the Trout Lake School Board and on the advisory boards of
the Klickitat County Port District and PUD.
He was a former Master of the Trout Lake Grange and a
member of Pomona Grange. He was a charter member of the Mt. Adams Lodge,
BPOE, and had been a past Exalted Ruler.
Beeks was a Klickitat County native having been born
September 3, 1903, in the No. 6 community near Goldendale. He attended schools
in Klickitat County.
In 1923, he married the former Laura Dingman. They have
two children, Robert W. Beeks of Trout Lake and Mrs. Robert Crump of Seattle.
