LYDIA LOUISA CROCKARD

     Funeral services for Lydia Louisa Crockard, daughter of Wm. Markgraf, Sr., of Glenwood, were held Saturday, October 4 at 2 o'clock at the Glenwood church with Rev. Fike of Glenwood in charge.
     Mrs. Crockard was born at Glenwood March 18, 1920 and died in Pasadena September 30, being 21 years, 6 months and 12 days of age at the time of her death.
     Surviving are her husband, John, a 9 months old boy, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Markgraf, Sr., and a number of brothers and sisters.

LAST RITES HELD FOR FORMER GLENWOOD GIRL

     Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Lydia Markgraf Crockard, who had died in Pasadena, California, Sept. 30. Lydia was born at Glenwood, March 18, 1920, and lived here with her parents until her marriage two years ago. About a year ago she went with her husband Jack Crockard to Denver, Colo. She leaves behind her husband, a nine months old son Billy, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Markgraf, sr., four sisters, Mrs. August Dapkus, Mrs. Merle Akerill, Mrs. Albert Warner, Mrs. Vance Guthrie; two brothers, William, jr., and Albert. Rev. B.J. Fike conducted the services with Gardners of White Salmon in charge. Pallbearers were DeRowland Ward, Roy Feller, Arthur Bleiler, Mike and Claude Warner, and george Hathaway. A graduate of the local high school and a member of the 4-H group Lydia was a youngster whom everyone liked. It was a saddened group who met to pay last tribute to a life that was just begun. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Markgraf, of Sunnyside, with their son, and daughter were here last Saturday to attend the funeral of their niece Mrs. Jack Crockard. The Jim Burns family were also over from Yakima to attend the funeral as was Mrs. Millie C. Murray, her daughters Jean and Wilma and Wallace Murray of White Salmon.

"Glenwood News"

The sad funeral of Lydia Markgraf Crockard, who passed away in California, was held here at the church last Saturday afternoon. Gardner's Funeral service, of White Salmon, had charge of the service. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Fike, of Glenwood; Cousin Jack Markgraf, of Spokane, Mrs. DeVries, Mrs. H. Babcock and Mrs. F. Fellers sang. She was laid to rest in the Mt. Adams Grange cemetery. Much sympathy is extended from the community to those who mourn her loss. A large crowd attended the funeral. Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Markgraf, of Outlook, Washington, and their son, Jack, and Episcopal minister from Spokane; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Burns, from lower Yakima valley, who arrived Friday and spent the week end, and Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Burgess, from White Salmon.

Mrs. LYDIA M. CROCKARD

     Funeral services were held in Glenwood Saturday for Lydia Markgraf Crockard, 21, Glenwood resident who died in Pasadena, California. Born in Glenwood March 18, 1920, Mrs. Crockard was a graduate of the Glenwood schools and active in 4-H club work. She is survived by her husband, Jack Crockard, an 8 months-old son, Billy; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Markgraf, Sr.; two brothers, Albert and William Jr.; four sisters Mrs. August Dapkus, Mrs. Merle Akerill, Mrs. Albert Warner and Mrs. Vance Gutherie, all of Glenwood.
