MEMBER OF PIONEER FAMILY LOIS DEWATER PASSES AWAY
A 45-year resident of Vancouver, WA. Lois Lusetta (Willard)
DeWater, died of diabetic complications Oct. 4, 1988. She was 84. Lois was
the third daughter of Emil and Barbara Willard of Willard, WA. The family
were early pioneers, Emil settling in the Little White Salmon Valley in 1891.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara C. Hassell of
Ketchikan, Alaska, two grand-sons, Dan and Clark, and one great granddaughter,
Brittany, all of Ketchikan. Lois was preceded in death by her late husband,
Herman, and by two sisters, the Estelle Davis and Clara Tobin, and her younger
brother, Harold.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10
a.m. at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel on 12th and Main Street. At 2 p.m. On
Wednesday, Oct. 12, a brief graveside service will be held at the Beth Zada
Cemetery at Underwood at the Willard plot.

Mrs. DeWater was the author of the book "Lois," which
was published in 1987. It is a historical and genealogical account of the
Willard family at Willard, WA. The book met with wide acceptance in the Northwest
and has been made a reference book in the Vancouver Library. It is full of
early history of Willard, Mill "A," Cook, Underwood and the Gorge area.

LOIS L. DEWATER
A Vancouver resident for 45 years, Lois L. DeWater, died
Tuesday at Hillhaven Convalescent Center. She was 84.
Mrs. DeWater, a homemaker, last lived at 2308 LaFrambois
Road.

grandchildren, and one great-grand daughter.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Vancouver Funeral
Chapel. Burial will be in the Beth Zada Cemetery in Underwood.
