Mrs. Ferdinand Markgraf Dies Suddenly
Following Birthday Party At Home Wednesday
Mrs. Ferdinand Markgraf, 50, well known resident of the Glenwood community passed suddenly October 20, following a birthday dinner and party held at the family home. She suffered shortly after the dinner with acute indigestion and died soon afterward.
OBITUARY
Lela Danbrook Markgraf, the only child of Fred and Mary
Danbrook, pioneer of Klickitat county, was born October 20, 1887, on the
Danbrook farm in the Number Six district about nine miles east of Goldendale.
She attended the country school known as the Number Six
district and grew to womanhood while living on the farm. She later came with
her parents to live in Goldendale. At the age of 24 she united with the Christian
church in Goldendale, later identifying herself with the Church of Christ.
July 1, 1920, she was united in marriage to Ferdinand
Markgraf and made her home in Glenwood until the time of her passing. She
passed away on her fiftieth birthday, October 20, 1937.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Ferdinand
Markgraf; her mother, Mrs. Mary Danbrook, both of Glenwood, and many other
relatives and a host of friends.
Her father preceded her in death passing July 4, 1921.
Funeral services were held from the community church
in Glenwood Sunday, October 24, with Rev. Goode of Trout Lake officiating.
Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery.
