LESLIE M. BONI SERVICES HELD IN WHITE SALMON

     Leslie Merle Boni was born January 12, 1893 in Illinois to George W. and Marla J. Boni. He had one older brother, Clyde, who passed away in 1949. The family moved west by covered wagon and after farming in Eastern Oregon for a few years, moved to Lyle in 1889.
     His father passed away in 1892 and his mother lived with Leslie until her death in 1932. They bought the farm at Lyle from the Barlows in 1903 and he lived there for the remainder of his life.
     He was a life long member of the Columbia Grange in Lyle. He was active in it until his health started to fail. He was also an active church member most of his life. He helped to build the Gateway Presbyterian Church at The Dalles, Oregon and was a charter member on Organization Day.
     As a young man he worked in the harvest fields in Sherman County, Oregon and on High Prairie.
     Leslie Boni and Mrs. Alrona Davies were married in June 1946 at the Methodist Church in white Salmon. They were later divorced and she preceded him in death.
     Leslie is survived by one nephew, Merle Boni, of Chicago, Illinois; a cousin, Harry Shippey, of Seattle, Washington; and a second cousin, Blair Shippey, of Appleton, Washington.
     Funeral Services were held Friday, June 28, 1968 at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon at 10:30 a.m. Interment was in the Lyle Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Charles Wilming of the Gateway Presbyterian Church of The Dalles, Oregon officiated at the services.

LESLIE M. BONI FUNERAL FRIDAY

     Funeral services were Friday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. in Gardners Funeral Home at White Salmon for Leslie M. Boni of Lyle, who died June 24 in Hood River Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Charles Wilming of Gateway Presbyterian Church of The Dalles officiated. Members of Columbia Grange No. 87 of Lyle took part in the graveside rites at Lyle Cemetery.              Casket bearers were Ernie Struck, Jim Brashers, Lotus Ewing, Marshall Hamm, John Castle and Philip Tuthill.
