LAFE M. COOPER
Long-time Glenwood resident Lafe M. Cooper of Salem,
Ore., died in Salem Oct. 30. He was 72.
Mr. Cooper was born May 9, 1918, in Hocomo, Mo., to Mr.
and Mrs. James C. Cooper. He lived in Glenwood from 1954 to 1966, working
for St. Regis. He then moved to Lincoln City, Ore., and then to Salem.
He loved to hunt, fish and travel. He mostly enjoyed
his children.
He is survived by his children Jim Cooper of Salem, Bill
Cooper of Glenwood, Lafe Cooper Jr., of Gresham, Ore., Ed Cooper of Pierce,
Idaho, Belinda Cooper of Tennessee, and Tom Cooper of Danville, Ill., and
eight grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Glenwood
Baptist Church, with Pastor Dave Tuckness officiating. Burial was at Mt.
Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.

Lafe M. Cooper, formerly of Glenwood, passed away in
Salem, Ore., Oct. 30, 1990.
He was 72 years old. Mr. Cooper was born May 9, 1918,
in Hocomo, Mo., to Mr. and Mrs. James C. Cooper, and lived in Glenwood from
1954-66 where he worked for St. Regis Lumber Company.
Mr. Cooper then moved to Lincoln City, Ore., and later
to Salem. He loved to hunt, fish and travel, but he particularly enjoyed
his children.
Survivors include five sons: Jim Cooper, Salem; Bill
Cooper, Glenwood; Lafe Cooper Jr., Gresham, Ore.; Ed Cooper, Pierce, Idaho,
and Tom Cooper of Danville, Ill., one daughter, Belinda Cooper of Tennessee;
and eight grandchildren. Services
were Nov. 3 in Glenwood Baptist Church, Pastor Dave Tuckness officiating,
with arrangements by Gardner Funeral Home, White Salmon. Committal was in
Mt. Adams Cemetery, Glenwood.
