LORENE M. MATTSON

     Lorene M. Mattson, 94, of Grants Pass, Ore., died May 15, 2001, at her home.
     She was born Lorene Marguerite Bunnell on Sept. 1, 1906 in Centerville. Lorene graduated from Centerville High School in 1925 and attended business college for two years. On June 3, 1927 in South Bend, she married Clarence (Pat) Mattson, who died in 1984. The couple moved to Grants Pass from Centerville in 1976.
     She was a homemaker and a caregiver. Lorene was a member of the First Christian Church in Grants Pass and a former member of the Centerville Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Washington State Grange and the Neighbors of Woodcraft and was active in the Thimble Club. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and knitting and she especially enjoyed her family.
     In addition to her husband, Pat, one daughter, Dolores Marguerite Mattson, preceded her in death.
     Survivors include one son, Gerald Mattson, of Independence, Ore.; one daughter; Joyce DeChenne, of Grants Pass, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
     A memorial service was held at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home on May 19. A graveside service was held at the Centerville Cemetery on May 21.

     Lorene M. Mattson, 94, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at her home.
     Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wes Winn of First Christian Church officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Centerville, Wash.
     She was born Lorene Marguerite Bunnell, Sept. 1, 1906, in Centerville, Wash. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1925 and attended business college for two years.      A daughter, Delores Marguerite Mattson, died before her.
