LUELLA M. STURGIS
Luella M. (Ritzschke) Sturgis died August 17, 1994 in
Goldendale.
She was born on November 21, 1908 in Dot, Wash. to Grant
and Cassie Barrett.
Luella married Bud Ritzschke in Centerville in 1933.
She and Bud were farmers in Centerville for 51 years. After the death of
her husband Bud in 1984, Luella and life-long friend E.C. Sturgis were married.
Luella loved her grandchildren, farming, traveling,
motorcycling on the beach and in the mountains, and people.
Luella is survived by her husband, E.C. Sturgis of
Goldendale; one sister, Ruth Melcher of Pendleton, Ore., daughters, Lucinda
Ritzschke Adams and husband John of Tucson, Ariz., Karen Sturgis Ritter and
husband Arnie of Goldendale, and Sharon Sturgis Shattuck and her husband
Joe of Roosevelt; seven grandchildren, John Adams, Rick Hansen, Brad Hansen,
Dustin Shattuck, Candice Shattuck and Roberta Quinn Ritter; three great-grand
children, Holly and Haley Hansen and Shay Shattuck.
Funeral services were held on August 20 in the Chapel
of Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Jeffries of the Church of the Nazarene
officiating.
Pallbearers included Larry Tobin, Rick Hansen, Dustin
Shattuck, Chad Shattuck, Joe Shattuck and Frank Spencer. Honorary pallbearers
were Bruce Cameron, Don Ritzschke, Brad Hansen, Quentin Jaekel, Dennis Jaekel
and Howard Masters.
