LOUIS S. NAGEL
Former Appleton Postmaster Louis S. Nagel, died Saturday
at his home in Appleton. He was 70 years old.
Mr. Nagel was born Dec. 20, 1909, in Portland to Mr.
and Mrs. Stephen Nagel and lived in the Appleton area all of his life.
He worked as postmaster there for 22 years before his
retirement in July last year. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge 2210.
Survivors include five sisters, Evelyn Shurtz, Klickitat,
Elizabeth Syvertsen, Saratoga, Calif., Adeline (Dude) Sorensen, Friend, Ore.,
Marjory Gregory, West Linn, Ore., and Margaret Johnson, Lyle, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Nagel will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m.
at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon. Interment will be at the Appleton
Cemetery.
