LOUISE MCCUISTION
Louise Aurelia McCuistion, a Trout Lake native, died
February 10, 1999, in a Corvallis, Ore., hospital, at the age of 84.
Mrs. McCuistion was born in May 13, 1914, in Trout Lake
to Charles Francis and Margaretha Anna (Guler) Coate. She grew up in Trout
Lake, graduating from Trout Lake High School in 1932. She graduated from
business college in Portland in 1936, and then married Clarence McCuistion
in Trout Lake on June 19, 1938. In 1941, they moved to Hood River were both
worked for the Oregon Washington Telephone Company (now Sprint).
Mrs. McCuistion moved to Corvallis, Ore., in 1994.
She was always proud of her Swiss heritage. She was a
member of the Presbyterian Church in Trout Lake, the Riverside Community
Church in Hood River, the Order of Eastern Star, the Washington Pioneer
Association, and the Washington Dairymen's Association. She enjoyed gardening,
photography, painting and traveling.
Mrs. McCuistion is survived by son Clarence Lee McCuistion,
Corvallis; former adopted son Steven John Bene, Corvallis, Ore.; nephew Ken
Coate, Juneau, Alaska; nieces Kathleen McCuistion, White Salmon, and Sidney
McCuistion, the Dalles, Ore.; sister-in-law, Bettina McCuistion, Trout Lake;
and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in
January 1983.
Memorial services, followed by an informal reception,
will be held Friday, April 16, 1999, at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Community
Church in Hood River, with Rev. James W. Cernhlavek officiating. Private
inurnment will be at Trout Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Oregon Dialysis Society
or the Mt. Adams Trail Association in care of DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel,
815 NW Buchanan, Corvallis, Ore. 97330.

Louise Aurelia McCuistion of Corvallis died Saturday
at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 84.
She was born in Trout Lake, Wash., the daughter of Charles
and Margaretha Guler Coate. She grew up in Trout Lake and graduated from
Trout Lake High School in 1932. She graduated from business college in Portland
in 1936.
She married Clarence McCuistion in Trout Lake on June
19, 1938. They moved to Hood River in 1941, where they worked for the Oregon
Washington Telephone Company (now Sprint Telephone), she as an accountant.
Her husband died in 1983 and she moved to Corvallis in
1994.
She was proud of her Swiss heritage and was a member
of the Presbyterian Church in Trout Lake, the Riverside Community Church
in Hood River, the Order of Eastern Star, the Washington Pioneer Association,
and the Washington Dairymen's Association.
She enjoyed gardening, photography, painting and traveling.
She is survived by son Clarence Lee McCuistion of Corvallis;
adopted son Steven John Bene of Corvallis; a nephew, nieces, sister-in-law
and many cousins.
A memorial service followed by an informal reception
will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Riverside Community Church in
Hood River. The Rev. James W. Cernohlavek will officiate. Interment will
be at Trout Lake Cemetery.
