LOUIS HEARN
Louis Ray Hearn, a longtime area resident, died on June
23, 1999, at Providence Medical Center in Portland, Ore., at the age of 71.
Mr. Hearn was born Jan. 23, 1928, in St. Clair County,
Mo., to Woodrow Hammond and Pauline Hearn Balsiger, White Salmon. He came
to Washington when he was 3 years old and attended schools in Underwood and
Bingen. He went into the Army Air Corp in 1947 and was stationed in South
Dakota and Alaska. After his time in the service, he came back to the White
Salmon area and worked at odd jobs - he was a Jack-of-all-Trades - and then
he went to work in a lumber mill.
Mr. Hearn enjoyed fishing, hunting animals and the outdoors.
He loved to go camping and had many friends.
Mr. Hearn is survived by his mother, Pauline, White Salmon;
sister Phyllis Bacon, Concrete; brothers Henry Balsiger Jr., Portland, Ore.,
and Joe Balsiger, White Salmon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by stepfather Henry Balsiger Sr.
