     PASSING OF AN OLD TIME PIONEER. - Martin Fuhrman, a pioneer stockman of Klickitat county and a veteran of the Civil war, succumbed to a very severe attack of pneumonia at his home in Goldendale December 29. Mr. Fuhrman was at one time one of the largest sheepowners in western Washington and was an honored and respected citizen of Klickitat county for 27 years. He was born in Germany, near Vienna, in 1841, and came to the United States with his parents when he was a child. At the outbreak of the Civil war he enlisted in the Seventh Illinois Cavalry and served for three years. After the war he settled in Iowa. In 1877 he came west and settled in Klickitat county. For many years he resided on Rock Creek, where he owned about 3000 acres of land. In 1873 he was married to Mary Maloney of The Dalles, who, with seven children, survives him. Mr. Fuhrman was laid away to rest in the Catholic cemetery, near Goldendale, and followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends.
