MARY HUFFSMITH
Mary Kathleen Vaughan Huffsmith, 62, died on Aug. 5,
2003 in Portland, Ore.
She was born in Sedro Wooley, on April 9, 1941, to Francis
Eugene Vaughan and Mary Camilla Levy Vaughan. Mrs. Huffsmith soon turned
into "Punk" or "Punky," which is how most people knew her. Punky grew up
in the BZ Corner area and attended school in White Salmon. On January 31,
1959, in Stevenson, she married Bert Huffsmith of Glenwood. They lived in
Glenwood, Bingen, White Salmon, Husum, and finally, in Trout Lake. They were
married 44 years this past January.
She is survived by her husband, Bert, Trout Lake; daughter
Vicky Ramsay, Lyle; and sons Guy and Roger, both of Trout Lake; grandchildren
Justin and Jaecee Ramsay, and Heather Shannon, Kris and Tamaira; and foster
son James Skerbitz, Gresham, Ore.; foster granddaughter Amanda; two brothers,
Larry Eugene, White Salmon, and John William Vaughan (Bill), Vancouver; and
nieces and nephews.
Both of her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Huffsmith's wishes were to be cremated. She was
buried at the Trout Lake Cemetery.
