MATT JACOBSON'S BODY FOUND IN WILLAMETTE RIVER

     The body of Matt Jacobson of Centerville, 76, a life-long resident of Klickitat County, was found in the Willamette River Monday night and recovered by Portland police.
     Matt had been missing since June 15, when he took a bus from Vancouver to see the Rose Festival Parade at Portland. His clothing was intact and there was $25.06 in his wallet, Portland police told Sheriff Ez Kaiser. There was no indication of foul play.
     A post mortem examination will be made at Portland Friday to establish further facts in. the death, Sheriff Kaiser said. The body was identified Tuesday by Matt's daughter, Mrs. Charles Divers of Vancouver. Jacobson was visiting their home at the time of his disappearance.
     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Phillips Chapel, with Mr. Robert Daniel of the Centerville Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in the Centerville Grange Cemetery. The rites are being delayed pending arrival of a son from Detroit, Mich., due here Monday.
     Jacobson's body was discovered beneath docks along the river near downtown Portland. Decomposition indicated that the body had been in the water for some time, the sheriff said.

RITES HELD FOR MATT JACOBSON

Matt Jacobson, 78, life-long resident of Klickitat County, was laid to rest in the Centerville Grange Cemetery Wednesday afternoon after services at Phillips Funeral Home. Officiating minister was Mr. Robert Daniel of the Centerville Church of Christ.
     Matt passed away in Portland, Ore., a victim of drowning.
     His pallbearers were Louis Haldeman, Steve Grosbeck, Ernest Mattson, William Haldeman, Ted Guinan, and Hugh Cameron.
     Mr. Jacobson was born at Centerville on January 19, 1878.
