GLENWOOD WOMAN IS DEATH VICTIM

     Mrs. August Kuhnhausen, elderly Glenwood woman, died at her home last Friday afternoon following a short illness. Her death resulted from a heart attack.
     Mrs. Kuhnhausen came to Glenwood in 1908. She was born in England. Survivors include her husband, August, one son, Carl Wilson, two nieces and two sisters residing in England.
     Interment was in the Mt. Adams cemetery following funeral services held Wednesday.

KUHNHAUSEN

     Milly Amelia Kuhnhausen, of Glenwood, Washington, age 64 years three months and sixteen days passed away at her home in Glenwood on March 15, 1940. She was born on Nov. 28, 1875 at Worshester, England.
     She came to the United States in 1903 and married August Kuhnhausen on June 8, 1909. Graveside services were held, with burial in the Glenwood cemetery on Wednesday, March 20th, with Rev. Reynolds of the Methodist church, of White Salmon, reading the service. She is survived by her husband, August Kuhnhausen, and one son, Carl Kuhnhausen, of Glenwood. Funeral arrangements were conducted by Gardner's Funeral Service of White Salmon.

"Glenwood Women Organize New Club"

     Funeral services were conducted Wednesday noon at the graveside in Mt. Adams cemetery for Mrs. August Kuhnhausen, by the Reverend Reynolds of White Salmon's Methodist church. Many relatives and friends were present to do honor to their departed friend. Among those coming from a distance were Mrs. Louise Kuhnhausen and her daughter, Mrs. Hulda Cullins, from Portland; Mrs. and Mrs. Herbert Kuhnhausen, White Salmon; Mrs. Lizzie Rankin and her sister, Mrs. Maurice Hickey, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Niven, all of Portland; the Emile Strattons and Bernard Pollard, of Portland, and also Mrs. Andy Keller, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Snipes and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Claridge. Pallbearers were H.F. and O.J. Kuhnhausen, nephews of deceased; Paul Kuhnhausen, brother-in-law; Mr. Ede, Ariel and Ivan McCumber. Gardners, White Salmon funeral home were in charge of interment.

MRS. KUHNHAUSEN DIES AT GLENWOOD

     Glenwood, March 18 --  Mrs. August Kuhnhausen passed away at her home late Friday afternoon of heart trouble, following a very short illness. Familiarly known as "Aunt Milly" to the entire country side, Mrs. Kuhnhausen was a friend to everyone. She had been troubled with her heart for a number of years, but her critical condition was not fully realized. An active worker in all movements for community betterment, Mrs. Kuhnhausen will be greatly missed. Fond of informal sociability she frequently entertained with small teas, as was the custom in her former homeland, England. Cultured and a true gentle-woman, since coming to Glenwood in 1908, she had continued her interest in music, good books and the arts. She is survived by her husband, August Kuhnhausen, her son, Carl Wilson. two nieces in the states, and one or more sisters in England. Interment was Wednesday in the Mt. Adams cemetery.
