MARY ANN (MAYME) MASTERS
Mary Ann (Mayme) Masters passed away at Klickitat Valley
Hospital in Goldendale on Sept. 13, 1975, at the age of 84.
She was born Apr. 26, 1891, the youngest child of Henry
and Elizabeth (Nelson) Garner. She was born on the family farm south of
Centerville. Her parents were pioneers of Klickitat County and came to the
area in 1876.
She was married to Thurston Howard Masters Jan. 5, 1914,
and they settled on their ranch south of Centerville in 1917. They farmed
there until ill held forced her husband's retirement and they moved to Goldendale
in 1947. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1959.
She was a member of the Goldendale Woman's Association
and a life member of the Historical Society.
She leaves to mourn her loss, one son, James Howard Masters
and wife Marilyn and granddaughter, Susan Kaye Masters, and numerous nephews
and nieces.
Preceding her in death were three sisters: Elizabeth
Jane Miller, Ada May Miller and Rebecca Anderson and two brothers, George
and Frank Garner.
Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at Knosher Funeral
Home in Goldendale. Interment followed in the Centerville Cemetery. Eldon
Wiidanen officiated.
Pallbearers were Henry Garner, William Garner, Leo Garner,
Quentin Jaekel, Jerry Miller, and Henry Miller.
